Bio

James E. Collins is a Partner/President of Ayres, Cluster, Collins & Banks. Jimmy is a member and past president of the Marion County Bar Association and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida. He has practiced law in Ocala, Florida since 1987. He practices civil trial law, including personal injury and wrongful death cases. Jimmy is AV® Rated by Martindale-Hubbell®.

Jimmy was born in Ocala in 1962. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in 1984 and graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1987 with high honors. Jimmy graduated in the top 1% of his law school class. While in law school, he was a member of the Law Review and was selected to the Order of the Coif. He received a Presidential Recognition award at the University of Florida and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, where he was chosen as his fraternity’s athlete of the year for 1983-1984.

Jimmy and his wife Beth have been married for 34 years. They have four beautiful daughters, Mary Grace Williams – married to Bo Williams – Emily, Caroline, and Anna Catherine. Jimmy and Beth are also the very proud grandparents of Bowen and Collins.

Jimmy and his family attend Grace Episcopal Church in Ocala, where Jimmy has served multiple terms on the Vestry and as Senior Warden.

Jimmy is committed to giving back to the community. He has been very active in several community organizations such as Arnette House, YMCA, and Interfaith, where he has served on the board of directors and as president.

Jimmy coaches girls’ volleyball for Ocala Power United Volleyball club and is Head Coach for the Varsity Girls Volleyball Team at Forest High School. Jimmy enjoys spending time with his family, running, and the salt life at God’s beautiful ocean.
